    Left brain/ Right brain

I recently stumbled upon an interesting illusion that determines whether one is left or right brained.

I see the girl turning right at first and then left, then right and left and I got confused so I stopped looking at it

I got interested in the topic and surfed the net for a test to see if I'm left or right brain.
Below are my test results :

    Right Brain/ Left Brain Quiz
The higher of these two numbers below indicates which side of your brain has dominance in your life. Realising your right brain/left brain tendancy will help you interact with and to understand others.
    Left Brain Dominance: 16(16)
    Right Brain Dominance: 16(16)
    Right Brain/ Left Brain Quiz

So does that mean I'm both? LOL
But I think I'm right brain because I'm a left hander.
And I shall leave it as that.

    science center learning journey

Today, we went to Science Center for our Math workshop, Math trail and Science workshop. I enjoyed it a lot, especially the Math workshop and Math trail. Haha. Science Center was so fun :D

At the Math Workshop, I worked with Denise and Serene.
First, we were given a logic problem. We were supposed to "group" the buttons together based on their colour. We were only limited to 3 moves and could only move two buttons at a time. However, we cannot leave any gaps in between. We did not take down the solving method the first time so we used a different kind of button in the video to illustrate the solving method.

Next, we had a string and rubber band game. Firstly, we were supposed to loop the rubber band into the string while having our hands each looped into a loophole(?)at each end of the string. Then, we try to "free" the rubber band using our hands. EASY. After that, instead of looping a rubber band, we were supposed to loop another friend's string instead, having both our and our friend's hands still looped in the holes. Then, we try to have our friend "free". hahahaha. It was hard, but we somehow (or rather accidentally) got the answer. Somewhat similar to the method of removing the rubber band.

Then, we had a card puzzle. The instructor showed us: He read out "O-N-E" as he moved three cards[one card for one letter of the word "one"] to the bottom of the deck. The he flipped open the next card - an ace. "T-W-O "Flipped open next card - a number 2. "T-H-R-E-E" Flipped open next card - a number 3 card so on and so forth. Then, he instructed us to find out the order of the cards. We had a mind-boggling time trying to decipher the order of the cards. Our efforts were not wasted. The order was (from the top card to the card at the bottom of deck): 4,9,10,ace,3,6,8,2,5,7

COOL. I'm going to try that "trick" on my sister :D
    thou shalt be awed

After that, we took an alphabet puzzle. We were supposed to arrange the alphabets in such a way that none of them are consecutive, be it horizontally, vertically or diagonally. We managed to solve it.

Then, we took a matchstick puzzle. We were supposed to form the matchsticks into a certain shape and then remove 9 matchsticks such that there would not be any squares left of any sizes. We solved it.

Next, we took another matchstick puzzle, but it was harder. We were supposed to form a certain figure (containing 5 squares) and change the position of 3 matchsticks such that there will be only 4 squares left. We thought and thought and tried out all the methods, but failed. On the verge of getting a terrible headache, we asked the instructor to help us. He thought for a while(either that or he asked another student for the answer) and showed us the magic move.

We only managed to finish 6 puzzles, but nonetheless, it was fun :D I love the Math Workshop the best and hope to have more of them.

The Math trail was quite fun as we ran around trying different tools to solve questions. I paired up with Denise. Some of the questions given to us were hard(for us) so in the end, we left a few questions blank.

At the Science Workshop, we were given materials to build a mini prototype of a heat shield. OUR GROUP'S HEAT SHIELD LASTED THE LONGEST! It could have lasted longer, if not for the time constrain(the bus had arrived and we needed to go back to school). We got a badge each as a prize ☺

Today was a really fun day and I enjoyed myself a lot. I pray that tomorrow would be a better day and that it would not rain.

SST birthday! :D and some other stuff

I've always wondered when SST's birthday is on...
WELL, it's on 3rd of March!
oh and guess what, 3rd March is also two of my friends' birthday!
hehheh, all on the same day :)
The school gave us each a chocolate cupcake with cream in SST's school colour.
I didn't like cream that much, so I gave the cream to Serene :)
but the cupcake was DELICIOUS! It's so sad that it has went down my tummy, if only I could multiply food.

Today, we had a fire drill too, during math class. We all assembled at the basketball court.
You know, I wonder, if we get used to fire drills, what if there IS a real fire? I guess everybody will assume it's just a fire drill.

Right now, my mum's phone is ringing non stop while she's bathing. I think she's under stress. She comes home everyday looking so "sian" and tired and she mumbles to herself about some project thing.

I finished my math homework, got all the props ready for tomorrow's I and E project presentation. We are doing a puppet show and because of all the tests, we rarely had any practice at all. I just pray that we can do well tomorrow.

heehee. I took these photos during Bio lessons last week. So cool. Some glucose thing and osmosis. I really need to study the concept of it. I just can't grasp it. Don't know whether is it glucose solution that makes the water come out or what. AHHHH!

Check it out. This is how the chinese leek look like.

Then you put it in water(I think) and it starts to bend outwards.

It looks like an "O" shape soon! :D

Got to go do my Geography.
    Bye bye :)

    camp reflection

What are the three main points (or more) that you had learnt from all the activities?
    - for a team to work together effectively, there's GRPR :
goals :   be clear of our goal
roles : everyone must be clear of their own roles
process : everyone must do their job (engage)
relationship : to work together harmoniously

    - there is no "i" in a "team". working as a team :

    - respect and responsibility :
have respect for others and have ownership

How can all this pointers be of help to you?
All these pointers can help me as I know how a team is able to work together harmoniously and achieve the team's goal.

If you were to have another chance to try all the activities, which one will you choose? Why?
I WOULD SO TRY FLYING FOX :D why?why?why? cause we didn't get a chance to try it in this camp ): I've never tried it before as in the previous p5 camp, it rained and we missed the chance. It looks so exciting! LIKE A ROLLER COASTER. OH WOW. I'm jealous of the groups that have tried it ):

If there's one thing you would like to change about yourself, what would that be?
For me, it would be the courage to lead the whole class. I don't really like to lead those who are my age or my seniors. It makes me feel bossy :/ But for those who are my juniors, heehee, it would be different. CAUSE I AM OLDER THAN THEM. HAH :D
